About me

I’ve been teaching Pilates for 7 years, practising for 20. Like many Pilates teachers, I’m an ex-dancer and find much similarity between the techniques. As a Body ControI Pilates teacher,  I  continue to learn and complete additional specialised training e.g. I'm qualified to work with clients with osteoporosis and include a focus on bone health in my sessions.  I also hold a specialist lower back pain qualification. Pilates is low impact and can benefit a wide range of ages and fitness levels - my current clients range in age from 20 something to 80 something. I love hearing how Pilates has helped in someone's everyday life or sport.

About Pilates

Pilates is about moving well. Joseph Pilates called his method Contrology and defined it as  "complete coordination of body, mind and spirit"

Pilates can help to:

  • Improve your body awareness and coordination

  • Improve posture

  • Strengthen and tone muscles

  • Relieve tension

  • Increase flexibility

  • Improve balance and agility

  • Reduce back and joint pain

What to expect in class
Exercises are performed on a mat, either lying down on your back, on your side, on your tummy or kneeling on your hands and knees. We also work standing up. We often use small equipment - resistance bands, balls, circles and hand weights.

Small class sizes

Body Control Pilates teachers work to a maximum class size of 12 ensuring close supervision and support for clients.

Quality of teaching

The Body Control Pilates teacher training course is the most comprehensive of its kind and is widely seen as an international benchmark.

"Contrology is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace and skill that will be unmistakably reflected in the way you walk, in the way you play, and in the way you work."

Joseph Pilates

"You can say what Pilates is in three words. Stretch with Strength and Control. And the control part is the most important because that makes you use your mind."

Romana Kryzanowska

first generation teacher

“Our mission has been to bring the benefits of Pilates to everyone. To this end we have created a method that is effective, safe and challenging... taught by teachers with unrivalled skills, knowledge and integrity."
